Hmmm....lets see. Ya know it was actually kinda hard to find Arcadia information. lol! Took me a while to find something decent to put here. Anyway, here goes nothing. As everone knows, Arcadia was formed by Simon LeBon, Nick Rhodes and Roger Taylor. They formed Arcadia during Duran Duran's hiatus in 1985, after the "Arena" album, I believe. Anyway, they released one album entitles, "So Red The Rose" with many high profile guest on it. Grace Jones and Sting for example, so they had very impressive guest stars. Critics often classified Arcadia's music as "an artier version of Duran Duran's new wave synth pop." They achieved commercial success with their single "Election Day," it was their only top ten singlew in the UK and US. The album was also a hit, I believe it reached the top ten as well. Although some people say that the band achieved this success just by name recognition alone. Most people know better, the boys put out good music, that's that. So, after a brief moment of success with Arcadia, the boys returned to Duran Duran. Soon after Roger Taylor left Duran Duran, and stepped out of the spotlight for a very lllooonnnggg time. Arcadia never toured, if my sources are correct. Everyone I got this info from various little bios and just winged it. So if any of my info is off and you happen to come across it, then email me. I'll fix the error ASAP. Thanx! :) |
